Strength in Every Grain

Shaped by Nature. Defined by Mettle.

The name Maple & Mettle tells our story. Maple represents the premium Canadian hardwoods we work with—natural, local, and built to endure. Mettle speaks to strength and resilience—the quiet determination behind every handcrafted piece.

Together, they capture what we create: wood with strength, soul, and purpose.

A Family Tradition

Craftsmanship runs deep in my family. My father was a maker through and through—if something broke, he fixed it. And if he couldn't, he built something better.

My grandfather taught me to respect the wood itself. He was most at home in the forest—cutting, splitting, stacking—understanding every knot and grain. From him, I learned that good work starts long before the first cut; it begins with knowing your material and honouring its story.

Together, they shaped how I approach every piece: with patience, respect, and the belief that true craftsmanship is built, not bought.

Built to Last Generations

Every piece I build is made to last for generations—crafted not just to serve a purpose, but to become part of a story. I source premium hardwoods locally, hand-select each board for its character and strength, and shape it with care and precision.

These aren't disposable items. They're heirloom-quality pieces designed to be passed down, gathering stories and character along the way.

What I Create

I specialise in functional pieces that bring warmth, texture, and craftsmanship into your home:

  • Custom cutting boards built for daily use
  • Charcuterie boards designed for sharing and celebration
  • Small furniture pieces including desks, coffee tables, and end tables

Each piece is made to order—crafted to your specifications in size, wood type, and finish—so it's not just furniture, it's yours.

Sustainability & Craft

Working with wood is a partnership with nature. I choose locally sourced hardwoods, prioritise responsible milling, and aim to minimise waste in every project. For me, sustainability isn't a trend—it's part of respecting the material and the generations it took to grow.
